Founded in 2000, Breastcancer.org is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing the most reliable, complete, and up-to-date information about breast cancer. Their mission is to help women and their loved ones make sense of the complex medical and personal information about breast health and breast cancer, so they can make the best decisions for their lives. One way they accomplish this is by highlighting breast cancer research in their “Research News” section of their website. To find the most relevant and actionable research, their medical experts review the latest study results from a variety of publications. They then take that research, summarize it, and put it into a language that is easy to understand. They publish 10 to 15 articles each month and are beginning to add podcasts interviews and short videos. In 2016 alone, this section of their site received two million page views. The Legacy Foundation was happy to provide a grant to cover the costs of this project for one month.
