Free Access To Technology - Legacy Advisors

La Comunidad Hispana (LCH) of Kennett Square, PA, was established in 1973 and serves the Hispanic population mostly working in the mushroom farming industry in the Southern Chester County area. It is a diverse bilingual team dedicated to helping adults and children to be healthy and stay healthy. LCH provides health care and social services to its target population of low income and medically underserved Hispanic individuals and families. This includes family planning, health screenings, immunizations, and infant and child care. LCH provides many other services including workshops, transportation, job search and placement, dental care, and much more. A grant from the Legacy Foundation provided integrated self-service kiosks with Spanish language capability and audio visual interface to promote patient engagement, and building confidence in managing their healthcare and increased shared decision making process. The kiosks are located in their main health center, providing members the use of special technology that allows them to recover more quickly from their behavioral health challenges, mainly because their most important obstacles to wellness are addressed first and foremost.
