The Joseph Fund was established in 2012 by Monsignor Robert McDermott. Its fundamental purpose and mission is to support the Ministries of the St. Joseph’s Pro-Cathedral by raising money for program expansion, capital projects, underwrite any operating shortfall, as well as to promote greater awareness of the Ministries in the community. These ministries are devoted entirely to serving the people of Camden, New Jersey, by responding to the needs of the community. The Joseph Fund Board provides critical funding for expansion and growth, but also provides consultative support to the Ministries’ leaders. The Ministries offer a hand up, not a hand-out, amid a culture of encouragement and confidence in the power of God to help those in need – to give everyone a chance for life fulfillment. The Legacy Foundation provided a grant to the St. Joseph’s Child Development Center, specifically, the “Adopt a Classroom” program. The grant included the installation of “smart boards”, other technical enhancements, new computers and software to a classroom. In addition, funding was provided for the replacement of new playground equipment such as swings, playground safety surface, and a butterfly climber set.
