Requip’d was founded by two hockey dads involved in the American Special Hockey Association, who continually saw expensive hockey sticks being thrown in the trash. They began upcycling thousands of hockey sticks into unique, high quality BBQ sets, with the help of manufacturers. In October 2021, Requip’d was sold to ABLE Force, based in Richboro, PA, which is a non-profit that employs adults with special needs. Their mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities by providing meaningful employment. These adults are given the opportunity to create useful products while gaining a sense of pride and fulfillment! The Legacy Foundation is proud to support this organization and is currently in the process of providing a grant to help improve the energy efficiency within their building.
