CBC, The Committee to Benefit the Children, was established in 1980 as a volunteer based charity dedicated to improving the quality of life for children and their families who face cancer, leukemia and serious blood disorders. CBC serves the patients and families who are treated at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, providing direct financial assistance to specific families in need with non-medical, essential expenses which are not covered by other agencies or insurance. The Legacy Foundation provided CBC with a grant for their Secret Santa Project, providing grocery cards to help 53 adopted families in the program enjoy and have a wonderful holiday meal. In addition to the grocery cards, the Secret Santa program provided these families, including the patient, their siblings and parents, with toys, gifts and turkeys. On Christmas Eve, volunteers along with Santa Claus and his elves, delivered all the goodies to these very special families providing them with a holiday that they will remember for a very long time.
