The Foundation Of Every State Is The Education Of Its Youth - Legacy Advisors

The Children’s Scholarship Fund, started in 1998, is a non-profit organization with a mission to provide children from low-income Philadelphia families with financial access to quality, safe, K-8th grade, tuition-based schools, thereby increasing their long-term economic and social success. CSFP grants need-based scholarships to children from low-income Philadelphia families, all of which are awarded by random lottery. The Legacy Foundation’s grant provided a full four-year scholarship for a deserving child. The scholarship money goes directly to the school the family has selected, but families are responsible for paying a small portion of tuition costs as well — reflecting CSF’s requirement for parental involvement. In their history, they have received over 135,000 applications for the more than 16,500 scholarships awarded. For more information, visit their website at www.csfphiladelphia.org.
